Finally! My new hand-painted bags are all  DONE! I moved all over this year carrying these bags around. It felt like an overdue labor… Once I settled back home at my studio, I grabbed some inspiration from street art, favorite writers quotes, some original illustrations,  my beloved Frida, and I even made my own stencils!

I really enjoyed making these bags. Specially, the process of hand-painting. I love the texture of the fabric paint; and how the fabric absorbs it; and the sound of the brush over the fabric. I love the detail of this process.  I also love making one of a kind pieces and the idea there is no other like it because even if a use a stencil, the process of hand-painting is never the same for each piece. And since I work around sets of bags collections, these are limited edition.

These cotton bags are now available HERE! !

RESILIENCE. Ceramic Heart Series

"To be fully alive, fully human, and completely awake is to be continually thrown out of the nest. To live fully is to be always in no-man's land, to experience each moment as completely new and fresh. To live is to be willing to die over and over again"  Pema Chödrön

"You have to be brave enough to break your own heart" cheryl strayed
In the mist of a broken heart, I find resilience in these two quotes. Like these clay hearts, I embrace the open wound and the vulnerability of exposing my heart out in the open. My heart impacted with arrows, glued to a background, which holds it until it can stands on its on.
