Anarcha Virgins

In the name of the Mother, the Daughter, 

and the sacred Feminine Spirit,

Amen.

  Thousands of moons ago, when God was a woman, the word VIRGIN meant a sexually independent woman who owned her life to herself. Isis, Lilith, Cybele, and Ishtar were all virgins. Many moons later, Virgin changed its meaning to “single woman.” And when Christianity was officialized, the word Virgin became what it means today. Through this “Anarcha Virgins” series, I intend to reclaim and vindicate the word VIRGIN, its meaning, and its ancestral power; thus, I also reclaim and vindicate our ancestral power.
