Memory Quilt, Femicides

Inspired by the investigative work of Mexican journalist Frida Guerrera, I gathered her data from 2017 and handpainted the names of the identified women victims of femicides from that year. This is a Memory Quilt remembering 1,215 women who lost their lives. In Mexico, 9 women are killed daily, and more than 90% of the victims will never get justice. This quilt honors their memory.
